Air Asia Indonesia has changed its red logo to grey on its Twitter and Facebook pages, after QZ8501 lost contact with air traffic control on Sunday on its way from Surabaya to Singapore.
There were 155 passengers on board - 138 adults, 16 children and 1 infant - as well as two pilots and five cabin crew, according to the airline. Of the passengers and crew members, 156 are from Indonesia, three from South Korea, and one each from Singapore, Malaysia and France.
The Airbus A320-200 left Juanda international airport in Surabaya in east Java at 5.20am and was expected to arrive in Singapore at 8.30am. The last position of the missing plane is believed to be somewhere between Belitung island and Kalimantan in Indonesia. Search and rescue operations are underway.
In the meantime, group chief executive of Air Asia Indonesia Tony Fernandes wrote on his Twitter page: "We will be putting out another statement soon. Thank you for all your thoughts and prays.we must stay strong."
