A Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) C-130 plane carrying medical staff and supplies landed at Kathmandu airport on Saturday.

There were three doctors and four nurses from the Ministry of Health on board the plane. They will be working with the SAF medical team in Nepal and will be here between 10 to 14 days.

To date, the SAF has made six C-130 trips to Kathmandu.

Singapore has been helping with recovery operations and provision of medical services since Nepal was hit by a 7.8-magnitude earthquake one week ago.

The quake wreaked a trail of death and destruction when it erupted last Saturday, reducing parts of Kathmandu to rubble and even triggering a deadly avalanche on Mount Everest.

The government said on Saturday that the death toll has risen to 6,621, and the number of injured stands at 14,023.
