Nepal earthquake: 5.1 magnitude tremor felt in Gorkha, epicentre of Apr 25 quake

KATHMANDU (Kathmandu Post/Asia News Network)- An aftershock of 5.1 magnitude earthquake has hit the region that was the epicentre of Nepal's deadly 7.8-magnitude tremor on Apr 25.

The quake was felt at 11:30am in Barpark, Gorkha district, seismologist Mukunda Bhattarai at the National Seismology Centre (NSC) said.

This is the third quake with its epicentre in Gorkha, which is located about four hours by road west of Kathmandu, after last Saturday's deadly earthquake disaster

According to the Home Ministry, 6,621 people have been confirmed killed in the disaster so far while more than 14,000 have been injured.
