Shocking video footage of the ground giving way under two pedestrians who had just got off a bus in Seoul is going viral.

The video, which was captured by the camera on a passing bus, is dated Feb 20 and shows a man and a woman walking onto what looked like solid pavement.

While the two fell about 10 feet (3 metres), they suffered only minor injuries, reports said.

The incident happened in the Yongsan district in central Seoul, ITV reported. It appeared near where two 39-floor towers were being built.

Investigations into the cause of the sinkhole are ongoing.
