Nigerian woman in Taiwan with signs of fever cleared of Ebola: Report

TAIPEI - A Nigerian woman in Taiwan with signs of fever has been tested negative for the Ebola virus and has been discharged from a hospital near Taoyuan International Airport, health officials said on Friday.

The 45-year-old, who was not identified by name, was sent to the hospital directly from the airport after she arrived on Thursday, Taiwan's Central News Agency quoted the officials as saying.

According to Taiwan's Apple Daily, the woman has a past history of malaria.

Countries around the world have been on the alert to prevent the spread of Ebola which has killed more than 3,000 people in West Africa since the beginning of the year.
