Strength in pasta strands

Forget about steel and concrete in building bridges. When it comes to displaying feats of engineering marvel, these Hungarian students turn to an unusual material - pasta.

Here, a man (photo) is putting weight on the pasta bridge painstakingly made by the University of Szeged's engineering team in a competition in Debrecen,Hungary, on Monday. Students compete to build the pasta structure with the largest weight-bearing capacity.
