Sit back and think big

Towering above the landscape at the Gardens by the Bay are the Chairs of the Giants (above), an enormous two-storey high set-up put together for this year's Singapore Garden Festival.

This year's festival, which will be held at The Meadows from July 23 to July 31, will have more than 70 garden and floral displays, spread out over 9.7ha, which is the size of about 15 football fields.

Jointly organised by the National Parks Board and Gardens by the Bay, it will feature displays created by more than 30 internationally acclaimed garden and floral designers.

Other highlights include a display featuring giant bees and gigantic sunflowers, called Benny's Sunflower Farm, as well as a lush display of multi-coloured orchids in the Flower Dome.

Tickets can be purchased from visitor service counters at the Singapore Botanic Gardens or ticketing counters at Gardens by the Bay. They can also be bought online at www.gardensbythebay.com.

Residents can buy tickets priced at $12 for adults and $6 for senior citizens and children on weekdays, or $16 and $9 for both groups respectively on weekends.

Each ticket includes entry to the Flower Dome.
