Rosy tourist spot in China

These cliff formations in the Zhangye Danxia Landform Geological Park have become a major tourist attraction in China.

The 500 sq km park is located in Linze and Sunan counties in Gansu province in north-central China. The precipitous cliffs are in green, yellow, blue and many other colours, and rise majestically into the clouds.

Danxia, which means "rosy cloud", is a special landform formed from reddish sandstone that has been eroded over time. It is believed to have been formed about six million years ago. The landform is found only in China.
