Shopping mall Ion Orchard will release hundreds of lures - items that attract more Pokemon - at the mall until Aug 21.

Mr Kenji Lee, 31, who does advertising, downloaded the game when it was released this morning and had missed a few passing trains in order to catch Pokemon at Orchard MRT station.

The goal is for players to scour various real-life locations in the hopes of finding and capturing virtual Pokemon.
