In Pictures: Norway's conscription for men and women in the army

In September, hundreds of Norwegian female teenagers created history by being the first batch of conscripts from a Nato country. This conscript class, consisting of males and females born in 1997, underwent the same physical and mental tests. They continue to train together, take the same examinations and even sleep in the same tents. The Norwegian government hopes that with the introduction of this new law, it will be one step closer to being gender-neutral.
