The latest large-scale installation artwork by Bulgarian artist Christo Vladimirov Yavachev, widely known as Christo, allows people to experience walking on water.
Called The Floating Piers, it comprises a 3km-long floating dock system made up of over 200,000 high-density polyethylene cubes that undulate on the water.
The pier extends across Lake Iseo in northern Italy, joining two islands and the town of Sulzano on the mainland. Lake Iseo is located 100km east of Milan. One of the islands, Monte Isolo, is home to 2,000 people and usually accessible only by boat.
Visitors can experience the walkway work of art from Saturday until July 3. Half a million people are expected to visit the site.
