A dazzling way to help a cause

Creativity and colour were abundant on the stage at the Queen's Park Savannah in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, last Saturday, as this young reveller and hundreds of other children paraded their costumes as part of the Red Cross Children's Carnival competition.

The Red Cross Children's Carnival has been a mainstay on Trinidad and Tobago's calendar for decades and this year marks its 62nd edition, said the organisation in a post on its Facebook page.

The carnival, where only adults have to pay and entry for children is free, is the major fund-raiser for the Trinidad and Tobago Red Cross Society.

The income generated from it goes towards the organisation's social welfare and disaster preparedness projects, as well as other initiatives.
