They say that the language of love needs no words. And so it is, for about 100 artists in the city of Harbin in north-east China who are using snow to express this universal emotion.
Over the next 10 days, they will be creating a gigantic snow sculpture for the 29th Harbin Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo. The work of art, which is 103m long, 14m wide and 31m high, is called Love Song.
"It is a bust of a young girl and it's going to be the largest snow portrait in the expo's history," sculptor Zhang Ningge told CCTV.com.
There will be plenty of other snow sculptures on display as well, said event organisers. The expo will also feature ice sculpting competitions as well as sports and cultural events.
