Yearly gift to needy students

Mrs Agnes Quah, finance director of steel company Super Galvanising, presenting a $100,000 cheque to Singapore Press Holdings English and Malay Newspapers Division managing editor Han Fook Kwang (second from left) yesterday at the Singapore Island Country Club (SICC).

Since 2007, the company has been donating this amount every year to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund, which helps needy students with school-related expenses.

The firm's managing director Steven Quah (far right) and SICC club captain Andrew Lim were also at the cheque presentation, which coincided with the country club's Captain's Day golf tournament.
