1 in 3 who found work through job centres in 2011 above 50
One in three who found jobs through the labour movement and government's job placement services last year were 50 years and older.
In 2011, the Singapore Workforce Development Agency's Career Centres and the National Trades Union Congress' Employment and Employability Institute found jobs for 14,200 job seekers.
35 per cent of them were 50 years and older, Minister of State for Manpower Tan Chuan-Jin said in Parliament on Tuesday.
'We believe that more can be done for this group,' he said in response to a question from Ms Denise Phua (Moumein-Kallang GRC).
