Sharani Thiyagarajan, 17, anchor emcee
The Tampines Junior College student is one of four emcees for the concert and the only emcee who is not performing. So the bulk of introducing the acts and the performers falls on her. She was inspired to apply to be an emcee for ChildAid by her elder sister Navina, 20, who was one of four emcees for ChildAid 2010.
Sharani recalls: "She practised a lot. She would come home very late and I could hear her saying all the names."
She adds: "I would like to bring my cheerfulness and humour into the script."
Shalynna Johari, 12, solo vocalist
The 1.37m-tall girl will take the stage in a solo segment, singing Alicia Keys' If I Ain't Got You.
She had impressed the panel of judges with her rendition of the song at the auditions in June.
In between vocal-training sessions with ChildAid vocal trainer Gregory Chen last Friday, she tells Life!: "It's educational. I learnt where I made mistakes, where there are problems."
On her solo performance, she says she is "quite nervous" but adds: "I'm quite sure I can do it."
