How much I paid for it: It's a gift from my husband

Why I like it: My husband, restaurateur Beppe de Vito, and I are not big on watches or jewellery. We keep accessories to a minimal. Beppe has given away or sold most of the watches he owned, but he wanted me to have this AP Royal Oak.

I like the size and that it is good for most occasions, so I have been wearing it almost daily for the past two years.

Because of the different roles - wife, mother to four sons, daughter and career woman - I juggle, I always feel that I don't have enough time in a day, especially for my family.

The watch serves as a constant reminder for me to take a deep breath and slow down. It tells me when I need to put work aside, go home and enjoy time with my children and husband.

Time with them is precious. You need to do things right because you can't turn back time.
