SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK - THE MERCHANT OF VENICE

The Singapore Repertory Theatre's outdoor staging of The Merchant Of Venice updates Shakespeare's matchless tale of moneylending and matrimony for the 21st century by setting it in a modern financial metropolis. Remesh Panicker plays Shylock, the bitter moneylender out for bloody revenge; Daniel Jenkins is his victim Antonio; and Julie Wee plays Portia, the lawyer who saves the day.

Where: Fort Canning Park MRT: Dhoby Ghaut When: Today - Sun, 7.30pm Admission: $55 (today, advance weekend tickets), $65 (weekend tickets) from Sistic (go to www.sistic.com.sg or call 6348-5555)

UNEARTHED

These 30 works displayed at the Singapore Art Museum explore humanity's relationship with nature and the environment in ways ranging from eye-opening to disturbing. Look out for pieces such as Real Estate by Twardzik Ching Chor Leng, in which a small square plot from the front lawn of the museum has been placed indoors, and Ouch! by Ezzam Rahman, in which flakes of dead skin from the artist's feet have been glued together to form sculptures of animal fossils.
