Europe getaways

Guided holiday company Trafalgar is offering a 17.5 per cent discount for its 2015/16 autumn, winter and spring European itineraries at selected travel agents for travellers who book and pay in full by Aug 31.

For the 10-day Great Italian Cities itinerary, visit Venice, Florence and Rome at US$1,818 (S$2,450) a person for a twin-share room instead of US$1,965. SG50 safari deals

Affordable five-star stay

Travellers can now find out which five-star hotels in Asia give them the most bang for their buck, thanks to travel search engine Kayak, which has tabulated the average room rates at these hotels.

In first place is Trident Cochin in Kerala, India, where average prices start at $75 a night. The Royale Chulan in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is second, with average room prices from $117 a night. Rooms at Yangtze Boutique in China average $207 a night.
