SINGAPORE - Clad in frilly pink dresses, Hello Kitty and My Melody pose prettily as Gudetama waves gamely to the camera.
They are at Changi Airport Terminal 3 on May 26 to kick off "Nordic Adventures with Sanrio Characters", a festival organised by Changi Airport Group in collaboration with Sanrio.
The showcase features seven characters from the Japanese company known for its kawaii, or cute, creations and runs from May 26 to June 26, 12 noon to 11pm daily, at the public area of the Terminal 3 departure hall. The Nordic countries featured are Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
Housewife Vasha Didore, 28, said: "I come to events like these because I enjoy spending time with my family. We would love to have more events like these around."

Her daughter Sanri, five, grinned when she was asked which was her favourite Sanrio character. "Hello Kitty," she said. "I love her because her dress is so pretty."
Visitors can look forward to frosty attractions such as the Nordic Exhibition, which includes a video display of the Northern Lights, set against a backdrop of Norwegian fjords and snowy mountains.
There is also the Nordic Snow Funhouse by indoor snow centre Snow City, which contains a snow luge, snow pit and an igloo, for children to engage in winter play.
In addition, there are games, activities, gifts to redeem and a chance to win prizes in contests, including tickets to Sanrio Puroland and trips for two to a Nordic destination.
