NEW INDIA WELLNESS RETREAT

A new holistic wellness retreat, Atmantan, has opened on the hills near Pune, about a three-hour drive from Mumbai. The brainchild of former Ironman triathlete Nikhil Kapur and his wife Sharmilee, a pranic energy healer, the 106-room resort will spread across 16ha overlooking Mulshi Lake.

Phase one of the resort, including 73 rooms and villas, opened last month. Amenities at the idyllic resort include a Dining Pavilion, which houses three whole-food restaurants providing a blend of culinary styles such as detox, Ayurveda, Mediterranean and Asian cuisine. Much of the produce used is grown on the resort's organic farm.

At more than 4,645 sq m, the resort's Wellness Pavilion is one of the largest in the country, housing Atmantan's spa, fitness and consultation and wellness facilities, which include 23 customised therapy rooms, a fitness and physiotherapy wing, an indoor salt pool, a salon and a wellness retail outlet.

HONG KONG BAR TRAM

As the Rugby Sevens competition takes over Hong Kong next weekend, the territory's tourism board is showcasing the city's nightlife using double-decker party trams.

From Wednesday night to Sunday, three party trams with an onboard bar will run 12 journeys between 6 and 11pm a night, from the Western Market Terminus in Sheung Wan to Causeway Bay Terminus. Guests can get off at two popular nightlife hot spots in Central and Wan Chai along the way.

The Bar Tram is a free service and comes with two complimentary drinks. Operating on a first-come, first-served basis, travellers can secure a spot onboard by booking their preferred date and time at www.discoverhongkong.com/BarTram. Each tram takes 30 people, who will each receive a guide to some of the city's hottest bars and clubs.

NEW ROUTE TO JEDDAH

On May 2, Singapore Airlines' (SIA) subsidiary Scoot will launch non-stop flights to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia's second-largest city, replacing SIA's current service to the city via Dubai.

The low-cost carrier's thrice-weekly flights - serviced by 787 Dreamliners with in-seat power and in-flight Wi-Fi - will shave four hours off the SIA route and provide travellers with a direct connection to the region.
