Australia guide for Muslim travellers

Tourism Australia and HalalTrip, a booking website and guide for Muslim travellers, have launched a new guide for Muslim tourists in Australia.

The 68-page guide showcases Australia's various attractions and places of interest and provide detailed information on where facilities such as halal food places and prayer rooms can be found.

The guide is in English and can be downloaded for free at www.halaltrip.com. A print version is also available.


Expo Milano 2015

Until Oct 31, Milan is hosting the Universal Exhibition, or World's Fair (www.expo2015.org), where more than 140 countries present the best of their culture and technology. The exhibition is held in different cities around the world every two or three years.

The theme for this year's exhibition is Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life, which explores humanity's need for healthy, safe and sufficient food resources.

Visitors will also get to sample some of the countries' best dishes.

To celebrate Expo Milano 2015, Fidenza Village, a luxury shopping destination close to Milan, is offering guests six exclusive shopping packages.

Focusing on art, food, fashion, design and music, the experiences include a stop at the Ferrari Museums in Modena and Maranello; tasting of fine wines and regional specialities of Parma; and cooking lessons.

Ritz Madrid's tour packages

The Hotel Ritz in Madrid is offering guests an opportunity to discover the Spanish capital's attractions through a selection of Experience Programmes.

All four packages include accommodation in the guest's chosen room category, private airport transfer with chauffeur, Ritz continental breakfast and welcome treats.

One of the packages is an Art Experience for two that starts from €995 (S$1,585). It includes two nights' accommodation, a pair of tickets to three of Madrid's most famous art museums including the Prado, art guides and three-course dinners.

The two-night Family Experience, which starts from €1,455, includes dinner at the Goya Restaurant, where children can create their own menu, and three tickets to Micropolix, Faunia or Warner Bros Park, among other things.

The packages are available until Dec 30.

Deals by Holiday Inn Cairns

InterContinental Hotels Group opened Holiday Inn Cairns Harbourside at The Esplanade last week. Each of its 173 rooms comes with a private balcony and city, tropical gardens or ocean views.

The family-friendly hotel offers a free stay for those aged 19 and younger when they share their parents' room, and up to four children aged 12 and younger can eat for free at any time of the day at the hotel's restaurant.

The beachside hotel is less than a 10-minute drive from Cairns Airport and minutes from departure ports for tours to the Great Barrier Reef. There is also a free shuttle to the central business district.
