OPENING GIFT

Next month, Alila Hotels and Resorts will open Alila Fort Bishangarh, the company's second property in India after Alila Diwa Goa, which opened in 2010. The luxury resort in a converted 230-year-old fortress is an hour's drive from Jaipur in the Aravalli hills of Rajasthan.

To celebrate its launch, the 59-suite hotel has an introductory package that is part of its efforts to give back to the local community. The two-night Gift to Share package starts at US$187 (S$260) a night and includes breakfast, daily morning yoga classes and access to Play Alila kids' club with games and activities.

It is valid for stays from July 1 to Sept 30 and is available for booking from now till June 31.

Half of the proceeds will go to the local school, Rajkiya Balika Uch Vidyalaya, to help fund the purchase of computers and smartboards.
