In this edgy, contemporary adaptation of Euripides' Greek tragedy Medea, South Korean theatre company Theatre Group Seongbukdong Beedoolkee merges the Greek classic with various mass media formats of today, such as talk shows and video games, to piece together the story of the warrior Jason and his vengeful wife Medea, trapped in a vicious triangle of infidelity.

Theatre director Kim Hyun Tak was inspired to adapt the Greek play after observing how channels of new media today can lead to tragic outcomes in everyday life.

The show is part of The O.P.E.N., a 21/2-week programme of films, talks, performances and exhibitions aimed at introducing ideas and artists that will be presented next month at the Singapore International Festival of Arts.
