SOLILOQUY - A SOLO EXHIBITION BY TAN THIAN JOO

Local artist Tan Thian Joo's solo exhibition features 24 oil paintings which explore his fascination with human emotion and the fronts people put on in everyday life, such as Unveil and Dry Season.

This series by Tan, who graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, has solitary figures whose expressions are obscured by masks and make-up or are turned away from the viewer. The muted colour palette further emphasises the impression of suppressed emotion.

Where: Level 2 Pan Pacific Singapore, Public Art Space, 7 Raffles Boulevard MRT: Promenade When: Till March 30, open 24 hours Admission: Free
