SCO'S MUSIC OASIS CONCERT

The Singapore Chinese Orchestra takes the audience around China through music. Resident conductor Quek Ling Kiong leads the ensemble through pieces such as Jiang Ying's The Silk Road, Kuan Nai-chung's The Beautiful Scenes Of Yunnan and Zhang Han Shu's Beautiful Ke Er Qin Steppe.

SINGAPORE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA CONCERTS

The orchestra will be busy making music this weekend under the baton of associate conductor Jason Lai. First up are heartland concerts that are part of Temasek's 40th anniversary celebrations. The programme includes crowd favourites such as Suite No. 1 from the opera Carmen by Bizet. Then on Monday, the orchestra presents a free lunchtime concert at the newly renovated Victoria Concert Hall, in celebration of Singapore Press Holding's 30th anniversary. The programme includes easy-listening classics and movie themes, including Louis Vierne's Carillon de Westminster played by Margaret Chen on the hall's historic pipe organ.
