SINGAPORE - Singapore actor Chin Han, who currently plays a villain on US TV drama Marco Polo, fielded a wide range of questions on a Reddit chat with his fans on Monday.

The 45-year-old actor, who plays scheming chancellor Jia Sidao on the Netflix series, has appeared in a number of US TV shows and films including The Dark Knight, Arrow and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

During the Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session, Chin Han, who is based in the US, talked about what happened behind the scenes for the period drama, which was filmed in Malaysia.

Describing the weather as "scorching", he said that he "would hear the occasional 'thud' from time to time from extras falling".

Filming the gongfu epic was also dangerous work. When asked if anyone suffered injuries during the show, Chin Han's reply was that "EVERYONE" got injured.

"There were people who hurt themselves with bows and arrows and stuff, they got all banged up everywhere," he wrote.

He also spoke about working with Christopher Nolan and late Australian actor Heath Ledger on The Dark Knight (2008).

When asked about Ledger's death, he said: "It was very sudden, and very sad. I remember shooting our final scene in the movie, where I was on a big pile of money, and he had left his e-mail with me to contact if I ever was in New York. So I was looking forward to getting to know him better. Such a loss of a great talent, and one can only wonder what amazing work he would have done."

He described Interstellar director Nolan as "bada**" and "a man with a vision".

He also revealed some personal details, like his favourite teas (peppermint, ginseng), sushi (tuna), and that he likes to finger paint with oils.

The top voted question in the chat was "Do you find yourself referring to white people as 'latins' outside of filming?" To which Chin Han jokingly replied: "No, but I do call them 'round-eyes' on occasion."

Produced in collaboration with The Weinstein Company, Marco Polo aired in December last year.
