Kim Soo Hyun wins three awards, Gianna Jun gets top nod at Korean film and TV awards

Seoul (The Korea Herald/Asia News Network) - Actor Song Kang Ho and actress Gianna Jun won the grand prizes in the film and television segments at the 50th LF Baeksang Arts Awards, held at Kyung Hee University in Seoul yesterday.

They starred in the film The Attorney and the SBS romantic drama My Love From The Star, respectively.

Actor Kim Soo Hyun, who starred in My Love From The Star and the film Secretly, Greatly, earned triple awards, best new actor in the film segment, and most popular actor in both the television and the film segments.

Best acting in film went to actor Sol Kyung Gu for Wish and actress Shim Eun Kyung for Miss Granny.

Best acting in television went to actor Jo Jae Hyeon for the KBS1 drama Jeong Do Jeon and actress Lee Bo Young for the SBS drama I Hear Your Voice.

Best film went to The Attorney, directed by Yang Woo Seok, and best television drama to KBS2's Good Doctor.

Best entertainment show went to the tvN variety show Grandpas Over Flowers, while best educational programme went to the SBS investigative documentary I Would Like To Know.

Best supporting actor and actress went to Lee Jung Jae for The Face Reader and Jin Kyung for Cold Eyes respectively.

Best director went to Bong Joon Ho for Snowpiercer, and best producer to Ahn Pan Suk for JTBC's Secret Love Affair.

The awards recognise outstanding achievements in Korean film, television, theatre and other segments of the entertainment industry. It was established by Chang Key Young, founder of the Hankook Ilbo, who was known by his pen name Baeksang.
