LOS ANGELES (AFP) - Reality television diva Kim Kardashian tied the knot with rapper Kanye West in the Italian city of Florence last Saturday, and he introduced her as "my baby, Kim Kardashian West", said reports.

Her publicist confirmed the "private ceremony in the presence of family and friends in Florence, Italy", giving no other details. The couple were married by a pastor from the non-denominational Trinity Church in Miami at the 16th - century Forte di Belvedere, according to the American celebrity media.

Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli sang Con te Partiro as 1970s Olympic decathlon star Bruce Jenner - Kardashian's stepfather - walked the bride down the aisle, said People magazine.

The couple wore Givenchy. The bride was in a custom-made, long-sleeved, sheer-panelled lace creation with a floor-length veil, and the couple's 11-month-old daughter, North, wore a matching handmade dress.

The couple were married in front of a massive wall of flowers, including white gardenias, peonies and roses from France and Belgium, said Us Weekly.

West was a bundle of nerves, drinking from a bottle of water and shifting his weight from one foot to the other, said People. "It was funny how nervous he was," an onlooker told the magazine. "He clearly knew the gravity of what he was about to do. This morning, he was all smiles, but as it got closer, you could see that the nerves were kicking in."

The wedding is the first for West, 36, and the third for Kardashian, 33. The bride's mother Kris was at the event, as well as her sisters Kourtney, Khloe, Kris, Kylie and Kendall, who formed the bridal party, according to E! Online, the website of the network that carries the reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Security at the wedding was tight and guests were required to hand over their cellphones and any cameras. Screaming fans mobbed the fort as hundreds of guests gathered for the wedding. The guests included tennis star Serena Williams, actor Will Smith's son Jaden, and 12 Years A Slave director Steve McQueen, according to the media.

Dinner was traditional Tuscan cuisine, followed by a seven-tier wedding cake.

The couple, known collectively as Kimye, flew into Florence aboard separate guys-only and girls-only private jets after kicking off their marathon wedding celebrations with a party in the Palace of Versailles last Friday, said TMZ.com.

Kardashian wore a white gown, whose deep-plunging neckline defied the laws of motion, to the pre-wedding party and West, a matching neckline. The celebration featured horses, riders with huge feathers in their hats, musketeers in wigs and, and, according to E!, a surprise performance by pop star Lana del Rey.

The marathon wedding could earn the couple up to US$21 million (S$26 million), thanks to sponsors and through the sale of exclusive photos of the ceremony, said the reports.
