Game Of Thrones inspires Sesame Street, comic and British election parodies

With less than a week to go till the opening of the fifth season of Game Of Thrones, Sesame Street has released an adorable and child-safe parody of the television series titled Game Of Chairs.

The muppet-filled video features Grover Bluejoy fumbling through a game of musical chairs that will determine the new king or queen of Jesteros.

Other characters in the clip include Cersei Lannister, Joffrey Baratheon, Daenerys Targaryen and Robb and Ned Stark.

The five-minute spoof contains hilarious references to the show, incuding three throne-like chairs made out of gold, silver and bronze sporting goods.

The children's programme has spoofed popular dramas and films before such as House Of Cards and The Hunger Games.

British publication The Independent also recently channeled Game Of Thrones through a re-imagining of British political parties as houses and lords from the show.

The leaders of the seven biggest parties in Britain took one another on in a pre-election debate last week.

According to The Independent, design company Moo created Westeros themed posters for the seven party leaders in anticipation for the debate as well as for the premiere of the fifth season of Game Of Thrones.

Comic strip Piled Higher And Deeper also parodied the series in a strip published in 2013. The strip, titled A Game Of Tenure, features characters like Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen being rejected for tenure.

Snow is told that he is not the only claiment to the post and four other assistant professors have been hired. While Daenerys is told that she will need more outside funding to impress the committee.
