Fann Wong already worried about unborn child's education

Like most Singaporean parents, actress Fann Wong is starting to worry about her unborn child's education.

Specifically, the odds of getting into a good preschool and primary school, says the 43-year-old homegrown actress, who says she does not want to know the gender of her child before the birth.

Former actress Diana Ser, herself the mother of three children, had warned Wong of the tough-as-nails fight to give a child a headstart - starting with the kindergarten years.

Still, the eight months pregnant Wong is determined to raise her family here, despite being signed to Taiwanese artiste management agency Catwalk, along with her husband, actor Christopher Lee.

"Well, because I'm Singaporean," said Wong on Saturday evening. "I believe it is the best place to raise my child, my parents are here, and the education system is good."

Wong was making her last public appearance before her delivery, at the Diner en Blanc - French for Dinner in White - picnic, which is in its third edition in Singapore.

On Saturday, about 3,000 guests dressed in white turned up at Tanjong Beach in Sentosa, this year's secret location, with their own meals, tables and chairs.
