Actors Joanne Peh, 31, and Qi Yuwu, 37, tied the knot on Sentosa yesterday afternoon, just a year after they announced their romance.

They registered their marriage at Movenpick Heritage Hotel, and only 39 guests were present, including 11 of the groom's friends and relatives from China, said Lianhe Zaobao. No other MediaCorp actors, managers and producers attended the ceremony, where the only entertainment figure was movie producer Daniel Yun, said the report.

The couple released a confirmation of their wedding through Yun last night, after hairstylist David Gan essentially broke the news by posting photos of the ceremony on Instagram. Yun dispelled talk that Peh might be pregnant. He said the couple chose to marry on Sept 9 because the numbers symbolise a long-lasting relationship.

The wedding banquet will come next year, said Zaobao.

The couple had been friends for more than 10 years before they began dating. They have said their chemistry changed around the time they were filming the 2012 police drama C.L.I.F. 2.
