It was with great delight that I read the article on home-grown jazz musician Louis Soliano (Jazz Veteran Played In War Zone, Life, July 25).

It is assuring that pioneer musicians like him are being recognised and remembered.

As I come from the same era, I am happy to add that there are many musicians and entertainers like us who would still like to perform and contribute to the music scene here.

I hope to read more write-ups on home-grown pioneer musicians as this would create awareness of this generation and more opportunities for us to perform.
