MIAMI • Pictures of policemen in action during Hurricane Irma have triggered a storm of interest among women.
According to People magazine, Florida's Gainesville Police Department posted a photo of three officers on Sunday, with the caption: "… part of the night crew getting ready to do some work. #Irma".
That whipped up more than 110,000 comments, more than 280,000 likes and more than 170,000 shares in two days.
Some wanted to know if the men were single and if the department was going to release a calendar featuring its officers.
The department took the ruckus in a breezy mood, posting advice not to place 911 calls for the trio to respond to their needs and cheekily saying that one officer had been placed in protective custody for his own safety.
But it added that a calendar would be in the works, with proceeds going to hurricane relief efforts.
