Thousands of fans will be watching home-grown bands of various genres perform at Baybeats, the biggest event in the local indie scene calendar, at the Esplanade from June 27 to 29.
And while the various stages will see action from acts ranging from singer-songwriter Inch Chua and alternative rockers band Monster Cat to post-hardcore band Villes and ska outfit The Full Pledge Munkees, a large part of the annual festival has always been its initiatives for budding creative talent.
This year marks the debut of the Budding Video Artist program which pairs up four prominent homegrown acts playing Baybeats this year, .gif, Aspectrum, Fall Of Mirra and WhileTheKidsAreSurreal, with Lasalle Diploma in Broadcast Media students to create new music videos.
