English singer-songwriter Robbie Williams is the latest star announced to headline the Padang stage during the F1 race weekend this year.

The 40-year-old pop star, who is known for his chart-topping hits such as Angels and She's The One, will be performing on Sept 20, at the 2014 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix.

The last time he put on a concert here was in 2001 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, where he sold out 10,000 tickets in a few days. He was scheduled to come again in 2006 as part of his Close Encounters tour, but cancelled the Asian leg, reportedly due to health concerns regarding stress and exhaustion.

Williams will join the line-up of international headliners already announced to perform at the Marina Bay Street Circuit this year, including Taiwanese rock band Mayday, American crooner John Legend, English electronic pop duo Pet Shop Boys and Jamaican musician Ziggy Marley.
