BEIJING - Taiwanese singer Rene Liu, 44, is finally a mother.

She announced the birth of her first child, a boy, on Weibo today as she shared a picture of his footprint with his birth date, Jan 29, written on it, said NetEase website.

"A wonderful process at the beginning of a wonderful journey," she said in her post. "Let us walk with you slowly, step by step."

She married Chinese businessman Zhong Shi in 2011. NetEase said the boy weighed 2.8kg and had not been named.
