Local rockers Monster Cat plays monster set on Baybeats' final night

SINGAPORE - Alternative rock band Monster Cat led the way on Sunday in the final night of music festival Baybeats, with a set that was equal parts tender, ferocious and musically layered.
The homegrown act was one of the many bands that played at the annual indie event at the Esplanade that started on Friday.
While their audience at the Arena stage was mostly seated, fans of local post-hardcore band Villes at the Powerhouse stage were anything but passive, moshing along to the band's meaty and heavy riffs.
The energy was equally matched by Japanese rockers Survive, Said The Prophet, whose wild stage antics was a hit with the mostly teenage and young adult crowd.
