SINGAPORE -For the third time running, Kiss92 is the No. 1 English-language radio station in Singapore, based on share of listeners, according to the Nielsen radio survey.
The share of listeners is a measure of radio market share that combines the total number of listeners and the length of time listeners tune into the station.
It also had the largest radio market share in the Nielsen survey conducted last year, and earlier this year.
Just two years old, the station has now has a cumulative listenership of 624,000, figures from the latest survey showed.
This is a jump of about 9 per cent, or 50,000 listeners, from June's 574,000 listeners.
The Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) radio station is the second most popular station in Singapore based on listenership. It comes after MediaCorp Radio's Class 95FM.
Listenership for Hot FM91.3, another English station managed by SPH, remained flat at 297,000.
Commenting on the results for Kiss92, Mr Jamie Meldrum, senior programme director for Kiss92 and Hot FM91.3, SPH Radio, said: "To grow a new station in two years is no easy feat. The team is overjoyed and are all hyped up to continue this extraordinary growth momentum."
Chinese station UFM 100.3, also managed by SPH Radio, moved up one notch to eigth position with listenership increasing by 45,000 to 365,000.
Ms Carine Ang, programme director for UFM100.3, SPH Radio, said: "This is one of the best results that we've seen in recent times. The team is encouraged by the upward trend of our listenership and will continue to give our fans the music that they love."
The Nielsen Radio Diary survey is conducted twice a year. The latest survey was conducted between Sept 1 to Oct 26, and had a sample size of 2,019.
