SINGAPORE - Disney's hit animated feature Frozen was shown in cinemas two years ago. But the Frozen effect is still felt everywhere - even at Friday's K-pop concert by Super Junior.

In one segment, the lads of the mega boyband transformed into the Disney characters Queen Elsa and Princess Anna.

Putting aside their suave idol images, the "princesses" shimmied and cooed playfully - much to the delight of the 8,000-strong crowd which turned up at the Singapore Indoor Stadium for Super Show 6. It was, as the number suggested, Super Junior's sixth world tour since they debuted a decade ago.

Frozen fever aside, the three-hour concert was more expectedly filled with their spontaneous banter, hilarious antics and high-octane dance numbers such as Sorry Sorry and Mamacita.

Only eight members of the 12-man outfit were present: Leeteuk, Heechul, Kangin, Eunhyuk, Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook and Kyuhyun.

The other four members were absent due to military service and acting commitments.

Each of the eight on tour got their time in the limelight with solo performances. Ryeowook sang Mandopop prince Jay Chou's breezy tune Qi Li Xiang, and Henry of Super Junior M showed off some nifty dance moves while playing the violin. Super Junior M is the spin-off group targeted at the Mandopop market.

Shindong, who is currently in the army, made an appearance in a pre-recorded video. He did an emotional rendition of spy drama Iris' theme song, Don't Forget. Perhaps it was an appeal to fans not to forget him?

Even the dapper Siwon - who has plenty of air time with his multiple movies and TV appearances - had this to say to fans: "Please promise one thing, don't change your heart."

In a crowded K-pop scene, they sure seem to be appealing to fans not to let them go.
