Indie music event Hostess Club Weekender cancelled

The organisers of multi-act indie music event Hostess Club Weekender announced the gig's cancellation on Wednesday, three days before it was due to take place at Infinite Studios on Saturday.

In an e-mail to Life!, as well as on a post on Facebook, Japan-based organisers Hostess Asia wrote that the reason was "unforeseen, last minute technical issues that cannot be resolved in time for the shows to proceed".

A spokesman declined to give more details about the technical issues or how many tickets have been sold far.

Announced on May 1, the gig would have featured a line-up that included acclaimed indie names like American singer-songwriter Cat Power and New York trio Blonde Redhead.

The other acts on the bill were American singer-songwriter Perfume Genius, British electronic songwriter Sohn and British psychedelic rock quintet Toy.

According to the gig's ticketing agency, EventCliQue, those who have purchased tickets will receive e-mails on how they can get back their full refunds.
