TRANSFIX PRESENTS ANDREW RAYEL

When a DJ is often called "the new Armin van Buuren", you know he is destined for music stardom.

Andrew Rayel, 21, is often compared with the world-renowned Dutch progressive trance DJ and has even won the backing of van Buuren himself. Rayel, who hails from Moldova in Eastern Europe, started his music producing career at age 13 and has done remixes for famed DJs including Dash Berlin, Zedd and Tiesto. Last year, this young gun took the No. 28 spot on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs poll.

BILL MEDLEY OF THE RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS AND THE PLATTERS

Sing along to iconic pop classics with American crooner Bill Medley of The Righteous Brothers, who is in town to perform with American soul and doo-wop group The Platters this weekend. Medley is best known for hit songs such as You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin', Unchained Melody and (You're My) Soul & Inspiration. Accompanying him will be The Platters, the group behind classics such as Smoke Gets In Your Eyes.

THIEVES MARKET CURATES LOOF

Home-grown brands and emerging Asian artists are coming together to create a dialogue between art, artist and audience in the event curated by independent online gallery Thieves Market. The show features works from Asian and Asia-based artists such as Mojoko, Aiwei Foo and Tiffany Tan. Knock back a few beers and groove to tunes spun by DJs KFC and Marco Weibel.

CROOZOLOGY VOL. 1

Get ready for some head-banging and rock out to the tunes of hardcore, punk and death metal at the Aliwal Arts Centre this weekend. The inaugural instalment of Croozology showcases bands from around the region. Among the nine-band line-up are hardcore band Colossvs and Malaysian death-metal band Nailed and local band Tipping Point.
