Netizens were harshly critical and perhaps too unkind after former actress Maggie Cheung performed with her rock band at China's Strawberry Music Festival over the weekend.

Her second wind as a rocker was a realisation of a youthful dream, she said.

The 49-year-old screen icon still spun movie magic on the stage as she spoke and performed to the audience.

But some people thought she was better off sticking to acting on account of her low voice and flat pitch. As reported, she even went out of tune both times she performed in Shanghai and Beijing.
