So you have seen the latest NSFW celebrity photos - shots of stars such as Jennifer Lawrence, which were leaked in an alleged hack attack. Here are five of the most famous, or infamous, X-rated celebrity scandals.

1. The Edison Chen sex photo scandal

The actor's photos of himself in bed with stars including Cecilia Cheung and Gillian Chung were circulated online in 2008. More than 1,000 of the pictures had been stolen from his laptop, after he sent it to a repair shop.

The fallout of the scandal was immense. Chen said he would take an indefinite break from Hong Kong entertainment. The image of Chung, one half of tween-friendly girl group Twins, was tarnished.

The scandal was thought to have hurt Cheung's marriage too. She and actor Nicholas Tse split up in 2011, although he later said the photos were not a factor in the divorce.

2. The hacking of Hollywood stars' photos

Before the latest hack attack, one of the worst incidents was in 2011, when sexy selfies of stars such as Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis, Christina Aguilera and Vanessa Hudgens were stolen from their e-mail accounts and sent to celebrity websites.

A former office clerk was jailed 10 years for hacking into the accounts.

Johansson later said the nude photos of herself, taken in a home setting, were meant for her then husband, actor Ryan Reynolds.

3. The Pamela Anderson-Tommy Lee sex tape

The X-rated home video of the then couple on their honeymoon in 1995 was reported stolen from their home in 1997, said People magazine.

The tape was a huge hit for Internet Entertainment Group, which distributed the video.

The couple's lawsuit against Penthouse magazine to prevent the publication of stills from the video failed.

In 2002, when actress Anderson and drummer Lee's on-off relationship was off again, they each received a court-appointed award of US$740,893 from Internet Entertainment Group.

Their tape is credited with paving the way for others.

4. The Paris Hilton sex tape

Remember 2003?

It was the year the hotel heiress rose to fame - or notoriety - thanks to her roles in a reality show (A Simple Life, with Nicole Richie) and a sex tape (with film producer Rick Salomon, the ex-husband of Pamela Anderson and Shannen Doherty).

5. The Kim Kardashian sex tape

Before the tape, she was known as the daughter of a lawyer who worked on the O.J. Simpson trial.

After the tape - which showed her with an ex-boyfriend, singer Ray J, and turned up online in 2007 - she and her family become a reality television phenomenon with the show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
