Drapes and wind star at Cannes' red carpet on Monday evening

The wind stole in for a surprise cameo on the Croisette on Monday night and some stars had to battle the element. But in the case of actress Jessica Chastain at least, the wind turned out to be the best supporting, er, element to her leading lady gown.
Jessica Chastain looks like Winged Victory and she certainly conquered the style stakes in her lavender Elie Saab goddess gown on Monday evening. The actress kept her composure even as the wind wreaked havoc with the billowy dress which set off her red curls to perfection.
Actress Julianne Moore evidently got her style groove back after her disastrous first red carpet outing last Thursday. She shimmered in this feathery Chanel frock on Monday evening. With her red hair sleeked back and flower diamond earrings, she channelled old school screen glamour goddess.
Model/actress Riley Keough, better known as Elvis Presley's granddaughter, showed fashion savvy, teaming a tailored white blouse with a flowery metallic brocade skirt. The mid-calf length could have been mumsy but paired with the plunging cleavage and funky beaded heels, the outfit was both fun and fashion-forward.
