Maserati's first SUV

Maserati has unveiled the Levante, its first SUV. The Levante features tapered headlights separated into two elements, with the upper unit connected to the radiator grille.

Maserati's design signature is visible on the sides - three air vents on the front wings, trapezoidal C-pillar with the "Saetta" logo and the large, frameless door windows.

The rear is dominated by the very tapered back window and streamlined shape, both typical of a high-performance sports car.

The car is equipped with a sophisticated electronic suspension with controlled damping and air springs, intelligent all-wheel- drive, and eight-speed automatic transmission.

It could arrive in Singapore by year-end.

Panoramic views

Renault's new Scenic, like its new Espace, features a three-part windscreen that provides a panoramic view. Its ground clearance has been raised and the rear overhang has been shortened, while a wider track at both the front and rear provide the car with a particularly solid stance.

It comes with a distinctive lighting signature in the form of C-shaped headlights.

End of the Phantom The Rolls-Royce Phantom will enter the last stages of its life this year after a 13-year run. Rolls- Royce Motor Cars chief executive Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes also says the Phantom Coupe and Drophead Coupe will not be renewed. These two Phantom models will end with a special collection of only 50 to be called Phantom Zenith.

New AMG Coupe

Behold the Mercedes-AMG C43 Coupe, a 367bhp/520Nm all- wheel-drive two-door that nails the century sprint in 4.7 seconds.

Packing a 3-litre twin-turbo V6 paired with a nine-speed autobox, the car is expected to have as much grunt as the old AMG V8s of old. Top speed is restricted to 250kmh. It is expected to arrive as early as year-end.

Well-equipped A4 Avant Audi's new A4 Avant offers a class-leading 505 litres of stowage. Among compact wagons, it is also well equipped, with a power tailgate and electrically retractable luggage cover. Buyers in Singapore will likely find the 1.4TFSI variant attractive. The line-up includes a new 2.0TFSI and a 2.0TDI.

Look out for new Mokka X

Opel's new Mokka X could arrive by the third quarter. The compact crossover is powered by a new 152bhp 1.4-litre direct injection turbo engine with six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel- drive. With an electro magnetic multi-plate clutch, its all-wheel- drive technology is both adaptive and efficient.

Lamborghini under $1 m

There is now a Lamborghini that costs less than $1 million.

The Huracan LP580-2 is a rear-wheel version of the all-wheel-drive LP610-4. It has 580bhp/540Nm instead of 610bhp/560Nm, but it is still a blisteringly quick racer that clocks a 3.4-second century sprint and a top speed of 320kmh (0.2 second and 5kmh off the LP610-4's figures).

Being a two-wheel-drive and 33kg lighter, it is also more fuel- efficient - not that anyone in this market segment cares.

At $838,000 before COE, it is more than a quarter-million dollars less expensive than its all-wheel twin.

New Lamborghini head

Volkswagen Group's Italian supercar brand Lamborghini has named former Ferrari F1 team head Stefano Domenicali as its new chief executive. From next month, Mr Domenicali replaces long-time CEO Stephan Winkelmann, who will become head of Audi's high- performance car division quattro GmbH.
