Inspired by a forgotten tale from Singapore's past, this production is set on Pulau Senang, an island south of Singapore, which was used in a bold experiment led by an Irish superintendent to create a utopian penal colony. But things went horribly wrong in July 1963 when a bloody riot initiated by the detainees led to the death of four officers and the burning of the settlement.
