At the age of 60, grandmother of seven Mary Ho bought herself a guitar and taught herself how to strum from scratch.

She wanted to fulfil her childhood dream of playing the guitar and to share her love for music with everyone. She also wanted to cut an album. To do so, she needed a teacher. But instructor after instructor turned her down, citing her age and less than nimble fingers.

Mary was not deterred and finally found a good teacher who helped her achieve her dream.

Today, the 78-year-old has released an album, performed at numerous charity concerts and even graced the SG50 official website and its Facebook page. Her performances on Youtube have garnered more than one million views.

She says she wants to continue inspiring the young and the old with her passion for life.

"We need to do something that we love. If you love something, you will definitely go and do it. In the end, you will be very happy."
