Where: Level 7, 66 Kampong Bugis

When: Till Dec 24, noon to 9pm (Fridays to Sundays)

What: Local design retailer Naiise is no stranger to novelty and it has taken it up a notch with its camp-themed Christmas pop-up.

Located in a 2,800 sq ft converted warehouse space overlooking the Kallang River, the themed store offers communal meals, a free terrarium workshop and "scout trails" - different in-store activities - for customers to complete.

Do not miss the Wishing Christmas Tree, on which customers are encouraged to put their wish for Christmas or to grant someone else's.

"The goal of the activity is to remind customers there is more to shopping during the festive season and to bring awareness to the joy of giving," said Mr Dennis Tay, 31, the shop's founder.

For those who do want to shop, products to look out for include plates with iconic Singaporean recipes, such as those for chicken rice and chilli crab ($16.90); upsized plushies shaped like dango, or sweet Japanese dumplings ($29.90); and playful gameboy- shaped lunchboxes (left, $14.90).

2) Dempsey Hill Christmas Fair

Where: Loewen by Dempsey Hill, 01-02, Block 71 Loewen Road

When: Till Sunday, 9.30am to 5.30pm

What: There is something for the whole family at this fair. More than 20 vendors showcase a wide variety of products including wine, jewellery, homeware and art.

Keep an eye out for customisable canvas art prints (pictured, from $270) from C+S Art Prints, which allow customers to put any text they want on the print.

There are Singapore-inspired homeware ($80 for a cushion) from Little Red Dot Cushions; handmade soya-based candles (from $35) from Mesmerised Lifestyle; Turkish cotton throws (from $75) from Tara's World; and photography by German photographer Sandra Macheroux.

For kids, there will be an indoor bouncy castle, balloon artists, face-painting activities and a small sandpit.

Live music also adds to festivities, including performances by a choir from the Humanitarian Organization for Migration Economics and a band of dads called Avdads.

3) Miaja Gallery Annual Christmas Pop-up Store: Unwrapped

Where: 190 Bukit Timah Road

When: Till Jan 14; 10am to 6pm (Mondays to Fridays), noon to 5pm (Saturdays), closed on Sundays

What: This pop-up at Miaja Gallery is one for art lovers. Located on the first floor of a three-storey shophouse, it offers French linen, silverware, faux fur, bespoke jewellery and silk kimonos.

A highlight is homeware label Maison Miaja's new French linen collection, Porcelain (pictured), inspired by one of the most iconic minimalist painters of the 20th century, Piet Mondrian, known for his De Stijl (Dutch for The Style) works - an abstract aesthetic centred on simple visual forms such as geometric shapes and primary colours.

Mr Julian Miaja, Miaja Gallery's communications director, says: "The collection interweaves the classic minimalist lines and varying tones of blue with a twist of the decorative designs found on traditional hand-painted blue and white porcelain."

Each cushion is priced at $78.

Shoppers can also look forward to faux furs from home couture label Evelyne Prelonge, with pom-pom keychains ($45) and elegant throws ($580).

4) Public Garden Christmas 2016

Where: F1 Pit Building, Level 3, 1 Republic Boulevard

When: Tomorrow and Sunday, and Dec 17 & 18, 1 to 7pm

What: Public Garden is a mainstay of Singapore's artisanal craft scene. Aimed at making Christmas shopping a fuss-free experience for all shoppers, the market curates quality brands and independent businesses with unique items.

For example, local ceramic brand Ummuramics will sell handcrafted pottery (left, from $8 for platters), while Indonesian label Obie will offer one-of-a-kind wooden dolls (US$20 or S$28).

There are also Thai leather goods transformed by natural indigo dye, screenprinted wrapping paper and handmade jewellery.

5) Creating Responsible and Innovative Businesses (Crib) Christmas Bazaar

Where: Raffles Hotel, 1 Beach Road

When: Tomorrow and Sunday, 11am to 9pm

What: At this social enterprise's first Christmas bazaar, shoppers can find unique items and support women- led businesses. Moreover, 10 per cent of proceeds go to Crib's charity that helps women in need. Expect to find more than 20 vendors selling homeware, apparel, jewellery and accessories.

Highlights include hand-lacquered boxes (from $180) from lifestyle brand Kala Pata; vibrant coasters ($20 for four) from local art label Milc by Mishell; handprinted bedding ($45 for pillow covers) by textile brand Feroza Designs; and luxury candles ($69) from candle-maker Temple Candles.

There will be a booth by the Autism Association (Singapore) selling items similar to the pouch Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's wife, Ms Ho Ching, carried at the White House in August, while they were on an official visit to the United States.
