King Living In Singapore

Award-winning Australian brand King Living made its official debut here earlier this month.

The 38-year-old brand is well-known for its range of modular sofas, chairs, beds, dining and outdoor furniture, as well as incorporating technology and innovation into its designs.

It has patented technologies such as the Postureflex Seating System, which is similar to that found in luxury European cars; and the TouchGlide Technology, which has a feature that allows favourite positions to be memorised.

Recently, the company released King Cove, a modular sofa suitable for outdoor spaces here. The seat and back cushions and frames can be adjusted, removed and rearranged. It also comes with a waterproof fabric and can withstand high temperatures.

Prices start at $6,764 for two seats, two side timber shelves and a square table.

Celebrate design at National Design Centre

The National Design Centre's calendar is chock-full with events for the end of the year.

First, check out Keepers Playtime, a six-week pop-up featuring workshops, installations and exhibitions. There are also artisans-in-residence so visitors can chat with designers and watch them as they work.

Shopaholics can browse at the Keepers store, which will stock brands such as jewellery label One.61 and candle label A Dose Of Something Good. The event is open until Jan 10.

Petrolheads will love the Icons Of Ferrari: A Celebration Of Design exhibition from Tuesday to Thursday, where four exclusive Ferrari models will be on show - a LaFerrari, an F40, a 599 GTO and a F12berlinetta.

As a tribute to SG50, the F12berlinetta is decked out in a metallic shade called Rosso Singapore.

Return for The Scent Market on Dec 5, where participants can sniff out a variety of scents. There will also be demonstrations and workshops, where you can learn to create aromatherapy body scrubs and scents.
